I put out a request for information and stories to support the project on Twitter last Sunday. Thank you to everyone who responded with offers of assistance and contacts for people who may be able to assist, I truly appreciate it. If I haven’t been in touch yet I will, it may take a while so please don’t feel I’m ignoring you.
Today marked the start of the project proper.
Combining some chores I got out to scout 3 locations. My focus way on ending the source of the river and so l headed to Whissonsett and Horningtoft. Using a combination of what3words, google, bing and waze I planned out some locations to visit. I think I have got as close to the source of the river as I can. It's no easy task as the river is little more than a ditch at this point. I then lookin a quick stop at Gt. Ryburgh, The river is well established here so there was no difficulty in locating same locations to photograph. The idea of this project has been bouncing around my head for a while now. I wanted to create a focus to my photography and discover more about this incredible river that runs through my corner of the world.
There are no images yet, I have begun by tracing the route of the river and looking for places I can access and look for photographic opportunities. Using Google Maps, Bing Maps, What3Words and the definitive map of Norfolk Highways I have started to build a database of sites to see. This aspect of the project will take time to complete but I hope to get out for some scouting missions soon and will post as I do. |
