Welcome to The River Wensum - From Source to Confluence
This is an ongoing project to trace to River Wensum from its source in North Norfolk through to its confluence with the River Yare in Norwich. The Wensum is one of the most important Chalk River habitats in the UK and for much of its length is of Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Growing up in Colkirk, Norfolk, close to the source of the river and having lived and worked in Norfolk nearly all my life the river has always been part of my life. Not in terms of working or even playing on it, it is just there. I never really appreciated how special it was until recently and now I want to learn more about its journey and if possible those who live and work by it.
